Hello all, I'm researching for a book on the WW2 history of my local district (Irlam and Cadishead) and found your excellent website. Before requesting information I thought it only polite to introduce myself. Last year I co-wrote and published a book called "A District at War" recording the district's involvement in WW1 which sold almost 450 copies (of 500 printed). So far, for the WW2 book, we have written over 500 pages, collected hundreds of photographs and interviewed 12 veterans (with several more to see this year). We are amateurs and the proceeds from both books go to a local charity, The Hamilton Davies Trust.
I have to admit to having no knowledge of Liberators (other than knowing what they are and look like) and until I found your site I hadn't realised that the RAF flew them. I'm trying to find information on one of my local men who died on air operations in October 1944 (I'll set up a separate post) and any information would be much appreciated.
