Six unknown airmen/groundcrew. If you recognise any of them please email me. Picture Courtesy of Gary Fayle son of Wally or Jim/James Fayle.

Myself next to a Palestine Policeman aircraft guard, was taken July 1942 at St. Jean Palestine, a 'grim place' I've noted. Akir, the next aerodrome was better, but the ground personnel lived very rough in tents. My special pal, Roger Dugdale, another Instrument basher and ardent communist, and I spent three days living in a 'kibbutz' close to Akir, which was very interesting. Later, Roger was killed in a 159 Lib. flying from (I think Digri), 'over the hump' to China. Photo & Text Courtesy Of George Barker-Read.

'A' Flight, 159, Salboni (Salbani), May, 1943. The officer seated centre I've forgotten, but next is 'Chiefy' Hughes who did a wonderful job with the 'new' Liberators during latter months of 1942. I've noted also he returned to England after a breakdown and died summer 1944. Next to him is Sgt.Harper,Fitter 2e. and next to him (front row 3rd left) is Chiefy Warren, NCO i/c Armourers. The officer apart, these are all ground crew (myself back row, right.) Photo Courtesy Of George Barker-Read.
