I served with the 220 Squadron during the war in the Azores and would like to say found this site very interesting.

Many thanks for visiting and for your service all those years ago, I'm assuming that you are Cynthia's father? She's been a real help here.
Thanks again and welcome to the site, I'm glad you liked it, we've still got a long way to go with it but comments like your's make it all worth while.

Hi all
He enjoyed every minute of his time during the war - he still comes out with little snippets of stories he hasn't told us before. Don't think he wanted it to end and felt totally deflated when he had to go home. It has taken him to 2008 before he ever told the stories about his time in the RAF and my husband never knew so much about his Dad's life as he does now.

Hi Ted, it is nice to hear that there are still some 220 squadron Flight Engineers about. My uncle was a rear gunner for the 220, '44 -'45, based in the Azores. Sgt Frank Rogers.
