My Father was in 547 squadron, I believe he was a flight engineer on a Coastal Command Liberator from 1943, but Im not too sure of the dates. His name is Ronald William Bell and he is now in his late 80's and not in the best of health, so im trying to find out more about 547 squadron and was hoping somebody could point me in the right direction.I am finding it very hard to find anything on the internet about 547 and its history.

Hi,
Have you or your father applied to receive a copy of his service records?
They dont give a lot of information but will give dates as to when he served with each unit.
You can find an application form on www.veterans-uk.info/service_records/service_records.html
It does not cost anything if he or his next of kin is applying.
Brian

My father was in 547 too..."Gerry" Tuddenham (Frederick Charles Tuddenham)
He must have known your dad I guess...sadly he passed away in 1976
Were you ever at Benson on Thames?
