pat atkins created the topic: Hello
Hello, better introduce myself as I'm new here - my name is Pat Atkins, and I'm the nephew of the late Donald Atkins from Brighton in Sussex, UK, who flew Liberators and Halifaxes in 205 Group (I assume - he flew from North Africa and Foggia in Italy, anyway). My father is Don's younger brother, Peter, who would like to discover more, too: dad was a schoolboy in the war and all three of his brothers who served in it are also now sadly dead so there's no direct link, so to speak.

The reality is we know almost nothing else about Don's wartime service, so I registered to see if anyone had any information or perhaps advice.I've browsed around the site a bit in the past as a guest and been impressed by what a fascinating and comprehensive source of information it is, and by the amazing range of people's experiences and memories.
